Without further ado, I am excited to introduce my new project, MISS-INFORMED, and it's accompanying blog. I'm excited because at long last, I finally feel like I've arrived at a space that I can call "home". MISS-INFORMED is my way of presenting dogma-free information on an array of poignant topics, and for prices anybody can afford. I'm just so tired of how many natural health enthusiasts are ego-based, busy trying to capitalize off of dis-ease (or dis-ease prevention), and all the while putting down the pharmaceutical companies and hospitals for . . . doing the same thing.
Plainly put, we are living in pivotal times. More and more people are seeing that, yes, there is a problem with, say, our healthcare system, and they are more open than ever to considering new and "different" information. But life is more expensive than ever, too, which makes for important, often life-saving messages not being received by willing audiences because of money. As well, most do not have hours of their lives to dedicate to researching this information, and so they continue on without it....and primarily due to time constraints. I have a hard time with this, although I understand where people are coming from, thus the idea for MISS-INFORMED. So, subscribe to this blog or email me direct to stay informed about new releases. I guarantee you that you will not be disappointed . . .
After completing a 95 day juice fast this summer, I am preparing to leave for Thailand mid-September to experiment with Fruitarianism and to train at Rawai Gym, a premiere Muay Thai fighting gym in Phuket. I'll be there for three months and cannot wait! At Rawai I'll be training twice a day, every day, and for 4 - 6 hours a day. A lot of people wonder why on Earth I would do such a random, extreme thing. My reasons are as follows:
1) To establish Discipline. As a writer this is of utmost importance, and something I can use more of. This is a HUGE reason for my trip!
2) To correct my Metabolism. Although I am not one of her disciples, I remember when Oprah was working out twice a day to retrain her metabolism and thinking that it probably wouldn't hurt me to do that, either. Mine has suffered for myriad reasons over the years, and I wish to fix that. This is an excellent way to do that, since EVERYBODY works out twice a day at Rawai Gym, so I won't look wierd or extreme. Also, working out is allllll you have to do for the day, so it's not like you have to try to squeeze it in in-between work, social engagements, friends and family, etc. Metabolism slows with age and I'm not getting any younger. For my 34th birthday, I'm hitting the gym!
3) To learn Self-Defense. Everybody, but especially women, should know how to throw a mean punch or deliver a wicked kick, if the situation arises. As a single, outspoken woman, I want to feel confident I can defend myself. I wouldn't even mind teaching self-defense down the line . . . . but first things first.
4) To get out of the United States. Of course I'm appreciative for what I have, but it's so important to see the world and to appreciate other cultures. Time for a paradigm break!
And those are just a handful of the reasons, really. I intend to post updates on my experience here, and they should be pretty interesting, to say the least! On a personal level --- after much reflection --- I have decided that there are things about myself that really don't serve me anymore, including some major friendships that I have had to painfully lay to rest. But when we firmly identify how we will and will not allow ourselves to be treated, we begin to only attract potential friends who are in alignment with that standard. So I'm excited about what the future holds and am proud of the difficult decisions I have made. Overall, there are many things that I am excited about changing about myself, and my posts will surely reflect aspects of that journey as well.
I thank you again for taking the time. I hope you opt to subscribe so you will find out about my new booklets (and exploits!), and to share some valuable commentary and feedback with me. That is gold to writers! Otherwise, be sure to bookmark MISS-INFORMED!
Rock on,
Erica
