Facebook - Are You On It?

I have never liked Facebook, I must confess. I just never found the site very user-friendly, and hate all the gimmicky stuff, like sending people good luck charms, Christmas tree ornaments or dumb quizzes. Myspace is far more corrupt, but at least people can blog and stuff.

I begrudgingly joined as a way of promoting my raw foods business (at the time). Same for Myspace, which I hated joining.

Turns out a lot of the people here at this international gym are on Facebook, so now I'm checking it daily and am getting used to the fact that Facebook is just going to have to be one of those things you just accept in this world. It's worth it to me to be on it because as "the thinking man's 'myspace'", everybody cool that I know is on Facebook, it seems.
I now have become quite the believer, I must say, and my friend list is growing rapidly being here at Rawai Gym. I love how easy it is to stay in touch and share photos on it, especially with everybody going home to places all over the world.
Oddly enough, the most interesting connections I've made, outside of my friends in high school (a given) and allllll my friends at Rawai Gym, are the connections I've made with friends from junior high. I lived in Connecticut for 2 years -- 6th and 7th grade -- and one of my old classmates found me. Through him, I am now in touch with a bunch of people from those years. It's crazy! Who would have thought? It's excellent to see how they turned out, and to find out how well they are doing. Such great people!
Anyways, some people who read this blog have contacted me already on Facebook, people who have not even come here yet. And there's lots more people here right now I'd love to connect with, too. So, if you're reading this or are here already and we haven't connected yet, please add me as a friend. You can find me at Erica Mary Albanese on Facebook.
