Cigarettes In Thailand

I was SHOCKED to see the packaging on cigarettes in Thailand. They all depict very graphic photos of damage done by smoking. It's a pretty aggressive, progressive marketing technique, although a lot of Thais still smoke. Smokers are a tough crowd! I should know, I've spent many years as one in my time. . . .
Here's a brief article I found on it:
BANGKOK, Feb. 4 (Xinhuanet) -- Cigarette packs will have to carry images of health hazards caused by smoking from Mar. 25, Thai Deputy Public Health Minister Suchai Charoenrattanakul said. The images to be used will represent the dangers of smoking, including hazards to children as passive smokers, bad breath and lung cancer, reported the Thai News Agency Friday. The minister repeated calls for smokers to completely give up smoking. "There is no existing cigarette on earth that is good for health, no matter how low the nicotine content or how mild they have been flavored," he said. The new anti-smoking law recently approved by the cabinet will be strictly enforced, he said. The law bans public advertisements for cigarettes and reduces the areas where cigarettes are sold.

Below is Josh from Nashville modelling a pack of cigarettes,

although he doesn't smoke. (Note: We all love Josh, how can you not? LOL)

I know, they are gross. But so over the top. My favorite is a parent holding a baby and blowing a HUGE lungful of smoke RIGHT INTO the baby's face, AS IF smokers do that, and the baby is crying. But babies do get 2nd hand smoke, which is "their point", just so overdone. People totally smoke them still and roll their eyes. Gotta love smokers, LOL!
